Wonders Homework

Wonders homework will come home on Friday and is due back the following Friday. The first page of the Wonders homework is the sight words. The rest of the homework includes practicing the weekly key vocabulary words, spelling words, and comprehension skill.

Go Math Homework

Students will receive a Standards Practice Page every day we have a lesson in math (except Fridays), and the math lessons will be posted on the newsletter.  On the review day they will also take home a study guide that is completed in class and checked by me which they can use to study for the test.​

Reading

​

Please try and read with your child every day for at least 15 minutes. Reading for fun is very important at this age. It helps increase comprehension, vocabulary, reading fluency, etc. Our class is participating in the Pizza Hut Book-It Program! The children will receive a reading log every month. If they complete the log, they can earn a free personal pan pizza each month! This will start in October and end in March. Every day, students are encouraged to read at home. It is okay for you to read aloud to them and alternate back and forth. It is good for them to read both independently and to listen to you read as well. When you read to them, they are still acquiring many vocabulary words and this will aid in their comprehension and fluency.
